Side Air Bag: Service and Repair
Driver Seat Module
Removal Procedure
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. See: Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair/Air Bag Disarming and
Arming/Disabling the SIR System
2. Remove the driver front seat back cover. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front in Seats.
3. Disconnect the inflatable restraint side impact module electrical connector (3).
4. Remove the inflatable restraint side impact module fasteners (1).
5. Remove the inflatable restraint side impact module (2).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the inflatable restraint side impact module (2).
2. Install the inflatable restraint side impact module fasteners (1).
3. Connect the inflatable restraint side impact module electrical connector (3).
4. Install the driver front seat back cover. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front in Seats.
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System. See: Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair/Air Bag Disarming and
Arming/Enabling the SIR System
