Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair
ECT Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
Important: Use care when handling the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel
injection system.
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector from the ECT sensor (1) located next to the upper radiator hose (2) on the cylinder head.
3. Remove the ECT sensor (1) from the cylinder head.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Component Tightening Notice in Cautions and Notices.
1. Install the ECT sensor (1) into cylinder head.
Tighten
Tighten the ECT sensor to 20 N.m (14 lb ft).
2. Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
3. Refill the engine coolant.
