Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Disconnect PCV valve from rocker arm cover.

3.

Remove air cleaner assembly.

4.

Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold.

5.

Remove exhaust manifold retaining nuts and washers, then the manifold, Fig. 10. If exhaust manifold gasket replacement is required, the intake
manifold must be removed. Refer to ``Intake Manifold, Replace'' for procedure.

6.

Reverse procedure to install. Torque exhaust manifold nuts to value given in specifications at beginning of chapter.
