Using an air chisel, carefully remove the heads of the rivets that are retaining the ball joint to the upper control arm.

Remove the rivets using a pin punch and hammer
12.
Remove upper ball joint and discard.
13.
Using a 6 mm (1/4 in) drill bit, deburr the upper control arm ball joint attaching holes, if required.
Installation Procedure
1.
Install the upper ball joint to the upper control arm.
Notice
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints,
lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping
force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts
and systems.
2.
Install the upper ball joint retaining bolts and the nuts. Tighten the upper ball joint retaining nuts to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).
3.
Install the upper ball joint to the steering knuckle.
