Removal Procedure

1. Remove the wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (2500)   (See: Service and Repair/Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement)Wheel

Drive Shaft Replacement (1500)   (See: Service and Repair/Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement) .

2. Remove the wheel drive shaft seal cover, if applicable. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal Protector Replacement   (See: Service and

Repair/Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal Protector Replacement) .

Note

Use caution when using the hand grinder by the CV joint outer race (1).

3. Use a hand grinder to cut through the swage ring (2).
4. Use side cutters to cut off the small boot clamp (4).
