Brake Shoe: Service and Repair

1.
Raise and support rear of vehicle.
2.
Remove wheels and brake drums.
3.
Remove return spring and auto adjuster spring.
4.
Remove leading shoe hold-down spring and pin, Fig. 1.
5.
Remove leading shoe and auto adjuster.
6.
Remove trailing shoe hold-down spring and pin, then shoe.
7.
Remove parking brake cable and lever.
8.
Apply suitable grease to the supports on the backing plate where the shoes contact.
