Engine Overheating, Cooling Fan Inoperative (Inspect Battery Positive Voltage Circuit No. 742 and/or Cooling Fan Fuse)

Condition
Some customers may comment that the engine is overheating. The customer should be thoroughly questioned to determined if this condition occurred
after a vehicle jump start or battery charge. If the customer reports that the vehicle wasn't recently jump started or charged, then further diagnosis is
needed.
Cause
The cause of this condition may be due to a damaged electrical circuit or a blown cooling fan fuse. This occurs if the vehicle was improperly jump
started or charged. Refer to Corporate Service Bulletin Number 04-06-03-004A for the proper battery charging or jump starting procedure.
Correction
Inspect the 60 amp engine cooling fan fuse (# 44 for 2003 and 2004 or # 37 for 2005 and 2006) in the UBEC. If blown, replace the fuse.
Inspect the IP battery positive stud and circuit 742 for damage at the UBEC. Refer to the engine cooling schematic in SI. If there is any damage, repair
the circuit following published wire repair procedures.
