Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair

Reverse Lockout Solenoid Replacement 

Removal Procedure 

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the lockout solenoid electrical connector.
3. Remove the mounting bolt for the lockout solenoid.
4. Remove the reverse lockout solenoid from the transmission.

Installation Procedure. 

1. Install the lockout solenoid in the transmission.

2. Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the mounting bolt.

Tighten the lockout solenoid bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

3. Connect the electrical connector for the lockout solenoid.
4. Lower the vehicle.
