THIS PROGRAM IS IN EFFECT UNTIL OCTOBER 31, 2011.
Condition
Certain 2008-09 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon; 2009 Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra vehicles, equipped with a
Two-Mode Hybrid Transmission (RPO M99), may have a condition in which excessive pressure on the transmission clutch could cause a fracture. This
may result in an improper transmission shift when shifting from third to fourth gear. It may also cause the engine to run at a higher RPM, reduce fuel
economy, and illuminate the Service Engine Soon light.
Correction
Dealers are to reprogram the transmission controller to reduce the clutch pressure. Some vehicles will also require the replacement of the control
solenoid valve.
Vehicles Involved
Involved are certain 2008-09 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon; 2009 Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra vehicles, equipped with
a Two-Mode Hybrid Transmission (RPO M99), and built within these VIN breakpoints:
