Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is located near the output shaft of the transmission. The VSS contains a driven gear that triggers a hall switch. The
powertrain control module receives a voltage signal from the VSS and uses the signal to help control transmission and engine operation.
