Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Power Steering Reservoir Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Use a siphon in order to remove the power steering fluid from the reservoir (6).
2. Loosen the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose clamp at the power steering pump.
NOTICE: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in Service Precautions.
IMPORTANT: Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any escaping fluid.
3. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose (4) from the power steering pump.
4. Loosen the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose clamp at the reservoir.
5. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: Refer to Installing Hoses Without Twists or Bends in Service Precautions.
1. Install the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose (4) to the reservoir (6).
2. Secure the hose to the reservoir with the hose clamp.
3. Install the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
4. Secure the hose to the power steering pump with the hose clamp.
NOTICE: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid When Adding in Service Precautions.
5. Add power steering fluid to the reservoir. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
NOTICE: Refer to Air In The Steering System in Service Precautions.
6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System.
