Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Assembly
1. Apply wheel bearing lubricant, GM P/N 1051344, or equivalent, to the oil seal lip.
2. Apply DEXRON-III Automatic Transmission Fluid, GM P/N 12346143, or equivalent, to the sliding surface of the shaft (1).
3. Insert the pulley's shaft from the oil seal side of the pump body (2).
4. Apply DEXRON-III Automatic Transmission Fluid, GM P/N 12346143, or equivalent, to the O-rings and fit the O-rings (1,2) to the pump body.
5. Install the side plate (1) to the pump body. Carefully align the dowel pins on the side plate with the bolt hole (2).
