Ash Tray Lamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the ashtray from the guide by depressing the spring-loaded tab and pulling the ashtray out from the guide.
2. Remove the 4 knobs from the heater control unit.
3. Remove the heater control unit face plate from the center trim bezel by pulling the face plate straight out.
4. Remove the illumination lamp bulb socket from the heater control unit.
5. Remove the 4 center trim bezel screws from the instrument panel.
6. Remove the center trim bezel from the instrument panel.
7. Remove the ashtray guide from the instrument panel.
8. Remove the ashtray screw and the ashtray illumination lamp.
9. Twist off the ashtray illumination bulb socket from the lamp.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the ashtray illumination bulb socket to the lamp by twisting the bulb socket clockwise.
2. Install the ashtray illumination lamp to the instrument panel. Secure the ashtray illumination lamp with 1 screw.
3. Install the ashtray guide to the instrument panel.
4. Install the center trim bezel to the instrument panel. Secure the center trim bezel with the 4 screws.
5. Install the heater control unit illumination bulb to the heater control unit face plate. Turn the illumination bulb clockwise.
6. Install the heater control unit face plate to the instrument panel by pushing until the heater control unit face plate snaps into place.
7. Install the heater control unit knobs.
8. Slide the ashtray into the guide.
