Camshaft: Service and Repair
Camshaft Replacement-Right

Removal Procedure

Caution:  Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine front cover. 
3. Remove the spark plugs. 
4. Remove the left secondary timing chain. 
5. Remove the primary timing chain and right sprocket. 

6. Remove the 2 bolts and the timing chain guide (1).

7. Remove the camshaft bearing cap bolts in the proper sequence.
8. Remove the camshaft bearing caps.
9. Remove the camshafts and secondary timing chain as a set.

Installation Procedure

1. Verify that the keyway on the crankshaft (2) is properly positioned.
