Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement

Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (2.5L)

Removal Procedure

1. Use a siphon in order to remove the power steering fluid from the reservoir (6).

Important:  The power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe includes an inlet hose and an inlet pipe. The inlet hose connects the reservoir to the inlet
pipe. The inlet pipe connects the inlet hose to the power steering gear outlet hose.

2. Loosen the hose clamp that retains the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe to the power steering gear outlet hose.

Notice:  Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in Service Precautions.

Important:  Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any escaping fluid.

3. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe from the power steering gear outlet hose.
4. Remove the 3 bolts that retain the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe clamps to the vehicle.
5. Loosen the hose clamp that retains the inlet hose to the reservoir (6).
6. Remove the inlet hose (5) from the reservoir.

Installation Procedure

Notice:  Refer to Installing Hoses Without Twists or Bends Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the inlet hose (5) to the reservoir (6).
2. Install the hose clamp in order to retain the hose to the reservoir.
3. Install the inlet pipe to the power steering gear outlet hose.
4. Install the hose clamp in order to retain the reservoir inlet pipe to the gear outlet hose.
