Starter Motor: Service and Repair
Starter Motor Replacement (5.3L and 6.0L Engines)
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the rear steering gear crossmember.
4. Remove the wire harness from the wire harness retaining clips on the transmission oil cooler line bracket.
5. Remove the transmission oil cooler line bracket bolt.
6. Remove the right transmission cover bolt.
