Subject: Erratic/Inaccurate Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Gauge Readings (Reprogram IPC)
Models:
2009 Chevrolet Traverse
Condition
Some customers may comment that the instrument panel cluster gages appear to be erratic/inaccurate or are sticking. This condition may be intermittent.
Cause
This condition may be caused by an anomaly with the instrument cluster software, resulting in inoperative gauges or temporary erratic gage readings.
Correction
Important
DO NOT replace the instrument panel cluster for this concern.
Disconnect the power from the instrument panel cluster by either pulling the fuse or disconnecting the battery. Reconnect the power to force a hard reset,
then reprogram the instrument panel cluster with the latest software calibration.
Important
Select the correct calibration files for the appropriate vehicle configuration (body style) and RPO codes.
A revised calibration has been developed to address this condition. Technicians are to reprogram the instrument panel cluster using the Service
Programming System (SPS) with the latest software available on TIS2WEB. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) procedures in SI. As always,
make sure your Tech 2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
