Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
Caution: Failure to disconnect the intermediate shaft from the rack and pinion stub shaft can result in damage to the steering gear and/or intermediate
shaft. This damage can cause loss of steering control, which could result in personal injury.
2. Remove the intermediate shaft from the steering gear.
3. Use a utility stand in order to support the frame rear.
4. Remove the frame rear bolts.
5. Use the utility stand in order to lower the frame rear to gain access.
6. Place the drain pan under the power steering pump and the power steering gear.
7. Remove the power steering gear hose clip.
8. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the steering gear.
9. Raise the rear of the frame.
10. Install the frame bolts. Fully seat the frame bolts. Do NOT tighten the frame bolts.
11. Remove the utility stand.
12. Lower the vehicle.
13. Remove the drive belt.
14. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the pump.
15. Remove the power steering hose from the hose retainer.
