Traction Power Inverter Module - Description
DESCRIPTION
The Traction Power Inverter Module (TPIM) (1) is located on the passenger side fender, under the hood. The large cover is the main body of the TPIM
and the three phase connections are situated towards the center of the vehicle. The Auxiliary Power Module (APM) (9) is attached to the bottom of the
TPIM.
The TPIM (1) is one part in a modular part assembly that also contains the:
-
Auxiliary Power Module (APM) (9)
-
Two side brackets
-
Ground wires (10)
-
Terminal box cover (2)
The TPIM has the following physical connections:
-
Two cooling tubes (7)
-
One Low Voltage (LV) 56-pin connector (LV power supply and sensor lines) (3)
-
One High Voltage (HV) power supply input connection for receiving HV from the HV battery pack (5)
-
One HV Direct Current (DC) output connection for supplying HV to the HV Electric Air Conditioning (EAC) compressor (6)
-
Two HV Alternating Current (AC) output connections (3-phase) to e-motor A and e-motor B
-
One connection for the two e-motor resolver sensor shield (clean ground) wires (one for e-motor A and one for e-motor B.)
-
The 8-pin connector (4) for the APM contains the network communication connections and the APM wake-up signal from the HGM
-
APM 12-Volt Output connection (8)
