SUBJECT:
Check Engine Light On "EGR System Failure"
MODELS:
1995 (JA) Cirrus/Stratus
NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.5L ENGINE.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Check Engine Light (MIL) on, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 32, "EGR System Failure", Hex Code 2E. Condition may occur intermittently with no
apparent cause.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using the Mopar Diagnostic System (MDS) or Scan Tool (DRB III) and appropriate Diagnostic Procedure Manual, verify that all EGR systems are
functioning correctly. If no problem with the EGR system can be found, and before replacing any components, inspect the plastic vacuum tube from the
EGR solenoid to the brake booster for kinking. If any sign of kinking is evident, perform the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the EGR solenoid to brake booster vacuum tube.
1.
Remove air induction system from top of air filter to throttle body.
2.
Remove vacuum tube attachments to EGR solenoid and brake booster.
3.
Cut off vacuum tube at brake booster end. Cut the vacuum line so the radius will be removed.
4.
Remove the vacuum tube by pulling the harness toward the front of the vehicle from the EGR solenoid end.

Lay new vacuum tube, P/N 4663473, in place under the throttle body and zip tube. Feed vacuum tube from front of engine to rear. Position tube as
indicated.
6.
Connect both ends of new harness to EGR solenoid and brake booster.
