(10) Unseat the cable grommet from the firewall (Fig. 232) and pull the shift cable from the interior of the vehicle.
(11) Raise vehicle on hoist and unbolt fill tube bracket. Rotate fill tube to gain access to the integrated shift cable clamp.
(12) Disconnect cable from routing bracket as shown in (Fig. 231).
(13) Remove shift cable retaining nut and slide cable assembly off of mounting stud (Fig. 232).
(14) Disconnect shifter cable from shift lever assembly at transaxle (Fig. 232).
(15) Remove cable from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
(1) Make sure transaxle shift lever is in "park." This is the most rearward position. Verify park sprag is fully engaged by rotating either a tire or an
axle shaft.
