SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The deck lid torsion bars may become disengaged from the retaining bracket. This may be caused by luggage pressed against the bars during loading.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This procedure involves tie strapping the deck lid torsion bars to the retaining bracket.
1.
Drill a 1/4" hole in the torsion bar bracket directly below the surface on which the bar rests.
2.
Install the bar on the bracket (if displaced).
3.
Install a tie strap through the drilled hole, then around the bar.
