SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
If a warped or poor fitting passenger airbag door exists, the airbag door can now be serviced separate from the instrument panel assembly.
NOTE:
IF AIRBAG HAS BEEN DEPLOYED THE WHOLE INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the passenger airbag door.
1.
Record the radio preset stations.
2.
Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3.
Open the glove box fully to gain access to attaching screws inside of glove box.
4.
Remove the attaching screws from inside of glove box opening.
5.
Remove lower instrument panel and right spot cooler duct.
6.
Disconnect the pressure switch and squib wire connectors from the airbag module.
7.
Remove right cooler duct retaining screw; move duct to gain access to airbag fastener.
8.
Remove six fasteners holding airbag assembly to the instrument panel collar.
9.
Lift module up and turn so it can be lowered through the mounting bracket.
10.
Remove four phillips head screws from rear edge of airbag door.
11.
Remove five hex head screws from front edge of airbag door.
12.
Lift out existing airbag door and set new door in place.
13.
Install five hex head screws in front edge of door, torque to 3 Nm (28 in.lbs.).
14.
Install four phillips head screws in rear edge of air bag door, torque to 2.5 Nm (22 in.lbs.).
