NUMBER: 18-024-01

GROUP: Engine Performance

DATE: Sept. 7, 2001

SUBJECT:
Ignition Spark Test

MODELS:
2002

(LH)

Concorde/Intrepid/300M

DISCUSSION:

DO NOT run or crank the engine over with the ignition coil(s) assembly(ies) removed from the spark plug(s) on any Next Generation Controller (NGC)
equipped vehicle. If any of the coils short to ground, damage may occur to the coil driver in the Powertrain Control Module (PC M).

To check for spark without damaging the PCM, insert a spark plug into the removed coil assembly and connect the threads to the engine ground.
