Balance Shaft: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION

A balance shaft is used to compensate for the rocking motion inherent in a 90° V-6 engine. It rotates at engine speed in the opposite direction.
Mounted above the crankshaft in the cylinder block, it is driven by the timing chain.
