Door Lock Switch: Testing and Inspection
Door Lock Switch Connectors
To test the power door locks:
1. Remove the right door switch from the door panel and disconnect the wires from the back of the switch. Connect jumper wires as indicated to the
right door wiring harness. These jumper wires take the place of the switch in the inactive position. Operate the door locks using the left door
switch.

If the door locks operate properly, the right switch is defective.

If the door locks do not operate properly, go to step 2.
2. Remove the left door switch from the door panel and remove the wiring harness from the back of the switch. Connect a test light between the black
wire and the red wire. The test light should come on bright, indicating proper power and ground sources to the left switch.

If the test light does not come on or is dim, check the circuit breaker and the wiring to the left door switch.

If the test light is bright, go to step 3.
3. Operate the locks from the left wiring harness using jumper wires. Connecting the OR to RD and the PK to BK should lock the doors. Connecting
the PK to RD and OR to BK should unlock the doors.

If the door locks operate properly, the right door switch is defective.
