SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Subject 1984 model year vehicles are equipped with a common coolant sensor connector. If diagnosis of a poor driveability complaint indicates the
sensor connector is faulty, the connnector should be replaced with an improved connector available from Parts Supply.
DIAGNOSIS
Check continuity of sensor connector terminals and wiring using an OHM meter. If continuity is lost while moving wires or flexing connector, proceed to
the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE:
THE REPAIR CONNECTOR HAS AN IN-LINE QUICK DISCONNECT FOR TURBO AND EFI MODELS. THIS
DISCONNECT IS TO BE USED WHEN SETTING IGNITION TIMING ON THESE MODELS AND ALSO WHEN SETTING
IDLE SPEED ON TURBO MODELS. THE DISCONNECT IS NOT NECESSARY ON CARBURETED ENGINES AND MAY
BE CUT OFF OF SERVICE PART IF DESIRED.

Disconnect battery.
