About the LeBaron
The LeBaron name goes back to 1931 and was revived for 1977. From 1982 it was used on several front-wheel-drive families: the K-car sedan, coupe, convertible and Town & Country wagon (1982–1988), the LeBaron GTS hatchback (1985–1989), the J-body coupe and convertible (1987–1995) and the AA-body sedan (1990–1994). It was replaced by the Cirrus and Sebring.
What these manuals cover
- 1982–1988 (K-car sedans, convertibles and Town & Country wagons): the 2.2-litre four with a carburettor, throttle-body injection or a turbo, the 2.5-litre four and a 2.6-litre four.
- 1985–1989 (GTS): the 2.2 and 2.5 fours, including turbo versions.
- 1987–1994 (coupes, convertibles, the Landau and the later sedan): the 2.2 and 2.5 fours, turbocharged until 1992, and from 1990 a 3.0-litre Mitsubishi V6.
Tip: the title tells you which LeBaron it is (Convertible, Coupe, GTS, Landau, Sedan or Town & Country). The VIN code in the title, such as VIN D for the 2.2 with throttle-body injection, matches the 8th character of the car's VIN.
