Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Description and Operation
Proportioning Valve
Early Production ABS Operation
Hydraulic Assembly
In place of the conventional differential pressure/proportioning valve, the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) utilizes screw-in proportioning valves. Each
rear brake circuit has its own screw-in proportioning valve which is attached to the rear brake outlet ports of the hydraulic assembly. These valves limit
pressure to the rear brakes after a threshold pressure has been reached, thus improving front to rear brake balance during normal braking. The
Proportioning Valves are serviced separately.
