SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
"Chirping" noise being generated from the drive and accessory pulley area of the engine while the engine is running. The condition is most likely
experienced while operating the engine during wet or high humidity conditions.
DIAGNOSIS:
Use a spray bottle filled with water to spray the grooved side of the serpentine drive belt while the engine is running. If the noise subsides, and as the belt
dries the noise returns, serpentine belt misalignment is the problem.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves chamfering the hole in the power steering pump bracket that the tensioner attaching bolt passes through and replacement of the
tensioner and serpentine drive belt.
1.
Place the vehicle on a hoist.
2.
Remove the accessory drive splash shield.
3.
Remove the serpentine drive belt.
4.
Remove the automatic tensioner.
