Camshaft: Service and Repair
Removal
CAMSHAFT REPLACEMENT
1.
Remove cylinder head as outlined under ``Cylinder Heads, Replace.''
2.
Mark then remove rocker arm assemblies as outlined under ``Rocker Arm, Service.''
3.
Remove rear camshaft cover and O-ring from head.
4.
Carefully remove camshaft from rear of cylinder head. Use care not to damage, nick or scratch camshaft journals when removing camshafts.
5.
Reverse procedure to install, lubricating camshaft journals and camshaft with clean engine oil prior to installation.
