Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect battery.
2. Remove upper radiator crossmember. Refer to Cooling System.

3. Remove fan module. Refer to Cooling System.
4. Remove the accessory drive belts. 
5. Use Special Tool C-3281, or equivalent to hold crankshaft damper while removing center bolt.

6. Use Special Tool 1023 puller, and insert C-4685-C2, or equivalents, remove crankshaft damper.

INSTALLATION 

1. Install crankshaft damper with 5.9 inch Bolt, Thrust Bearing and Washer, Plate L-4524, while holding it with Special Tool C-3281, or equivalents.

Install center bolt and tighten to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.).

2. Install accessory drive belts. 
3. Install fan module. Refer to Cooling System. 
4. Install upper radiator crossmember. Refer to Cooling System. 
5. Connect battery.
