Apply 3M Windo Weld (Ribbon Sealer) or equivalent to the watershield on the upper half of the outer circumference (where shield meets metal
door skin) (Fig 1) and (Fig 2). The butyl should follow the upper outer circumference just inside the existing adhesive edge.

NOTE:

The upper half of the water shield must include the additional adhesive caulk to provide a good bond to the door.

Install the water shield onto the door. Using hand pressure, press the water shield onto the door for a good bond. Heat from a heat gun may be
required to adhere the existing adhesive on the water shield to the lower section of the door.

NOTE:

Apply the water shield at room temperature 22°C (72°F) or higher for good adhesion.
