Inspect the sheet metal at the front retainer clip cavity on vehicle roof. (Fig. 1)

Is the sheet metal at the front retainer clip cavity raised up at the edges or corners?

a.

Yes >> proceed to next step.

b.

No >> proceed to step 8.

Using trim stick (or equivalent), tap down with a small mallet (or equivalent), until metal is flush and applique retainer clip can lay flush on
surface. (Fig. 2)

Clean any residual adhesive from body using 3M - General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, p/n 08987, (or equivalent).

9.

Install new upper applique clip, making sure it is seated and locked properly to the body.
