Sunroof / Moonroof Motor: Service and Repair
Sunroof Motor With Control Unit - Installation
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Before installing a new motor/module or the original motor/module ensure that the sunroof glass panel is in the FULLY CLOSED
POSITION. If sunroof glass panel is not in the FULLY CLOSED POSITION, See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Power
Sunroof Timing.
1. Ensure that sunroof assembly is in the FULLY CLOSED position before mounting the motor/module. If not in the fully closed position See:
Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Power Sunroof Timing.
2. Place motor/module into position on the sunroof housing and install attaching screws. Tighten the screws to 3.5 Nm (31 in. lbs.) torque.
3. Connect the motor/module, and sunroof switch wire connectors.
4. Install sunroof glass panel See: Sunroof / Moonroof Panel/Service and Repair/Installation.
5. Connect the battery negative cable.
6. Perform the motor/module initialization procedure, See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Sunroof Motor/Module
Initialization.
7. Verify sunroof operation and alignment, and adjust as necessary. See: Sunroof / Moonroof Panel/Adjustments.
8. Disconnect and isolate battery negative cable.
9. Installing the headliner See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Headliner - Installation.
10. Install sunroof opening trim lace. See: Sunroof / Moonroof Interior Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Installation.
11. Install the sunroof switch, See: Sunroof / Moonroof Switch/Service and Repair/Sunroof Switch - Installation.
12. Install the map lamps/mini console, See: Lighting and Horns/Courtesy Lamp/Service and Repair/Installation.
13. Install sun visors See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Sun Visor/Service and Repair/Sun Visor - Installation.
14. Install A-pillar trim See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Pillar Trim/A-Pillar Trim Panel-Installation.
15. Connect the battery negative cable.
