Horn Switch: Service and Repair
Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with an airbag, refer to restraint systems for warnings and cautions before servicing the horn switch.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the driver airbag.See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Driver Airbag - Removal
3. Remove the steering wheel assembly. See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair/Removal.
4. Remove the steering wheel rear cover.
5. Disconnect the speed control connector (if equipped).
6. Disconnect the connector from the clockspring.
7. Remove each horn pad by pulling outwards while gently rocking in a side to side motion.
