Transmission Cooler: Removal and Replacement
Transmission Oil Cooler - Removal
REMOVAL
Non - Turbo
1. Remove front fascia See: Body and Frame/Bumper/Front Bumper/Front Bumper Cover / Fascia/Service and Repair/Front Fascia - Removal.
NOTE: When the transaxle cooler lines are removed from the rolled-groove type fittings at the cooler and transaxle, damage to the inner
wall of hose will occur. To prevent potential leakage, the cooler hoses and clamps must be replaced.
2. Disconnect hoses from transmission oil cooler.
3. Remove screws attaching transmission oil cooler to radiator.
4. Remove transmission oil cooler.
Turbo
NOTE: When the transaxle cooler lines are removed from the rolled-groove type fittings at the cooler and transaxle, damage to the inner wall
of hose will occur. To prevent potential leakage, the cooler hoses and clamps must be replaced.
1. Remove grille See: Body and Frame/Grille/Service and Repair/Grille - Removal.
2. Remove upper radiator closure panel See: Body and Frame/Radiator Support/Service and Repair/Removal.
3. Remove radiator closure panel center brace.
4. Remove fasteners attaching transmission oil cooler to air conditioning condenser.
5. Disconnect hoses from transmission oil cooler See: Procedures/Transmission Oil Cooler Lines.
6. Remove transmission oil cooler.
