Air Door Cable: Service and Repair
Mode Door Cable
REMOVAL
NOTE: The mode control cable can be removed and installed without having to remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove instrument panel center bezel.
3. Remove the center air duct.
4. Remove the A/C-heater control.

5. Reach through the center air duct opening in the instrument panel to access and remove the screw that secures the mode control cable housing to
the top of the HVAC housing.
6. Disconnect the mode control cable end from the mode-air door lever.
7. Remove the mode control cable through the A/C-heater control opening in the instrument panel.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the mode control cable through the A/C-heater control opening in the instrument panel.
2. Reach through the center air duct opening in the instrument panel to access and connect the mode control cable to the mode-air door lever.
3. Install the screw that secures the mode control cable casing to the top of the HVAC housing. Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (17 in.lbs.).
4. Install and adjust the mode control cable.
5. Install the A/C-heater control.
6. Install the center air duct.
7. Install the instrument panel center bezel.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
