How to Replace the Transmitter Battery
HOW TO REPLACE THE TRANSMITTER BATTERY
CAUTION: Do not allow water or dust stick to enter the inside of the transmitter when it is open. Also, do not touch the precision electronic device.
1. Remove the set screw to remove the battery from the transmitter.
2. Install a battery with its (+) side face-down.
Battery required for replacement: Coin type battery CR2032
3. Insert the claw first and assemble the transmitter.
4. Verify that the keyless entry system operates.
Keyless Entry System Timer Lock Function Inspection
KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM TIMER LOCK FUNCTION INSPECTION
Attempt to unlock the doors by using the transmitter. If the doors are not locked within 30 seconds, carry out troubleshooting.
Enabling/Disabling the Answerback Function
ENABLING DISABLING THE ANSWERBACK FUNCTION
If the keyless entry system locks or unlocks the doors, the dome light flashes or illuminates, the hazard warning light flashes (hazard answer back
function) and the horn sounds (horn answer back function). The hazard and horn answer back functions can be enabled or disabled according to the
following procedure:
Enabling/Disabling the Hazard Answerback Function
The hazard answer back function can be enabled or disabled by
one of the two following procedure
<When the transmitter is used after connecting scan tool MB991502 to the data link connector or grounding data link connector terminal (1)>
1. Enter the hazard answerback customize mode by observing one of the following steps. If the ETACS-ECU enters the customize mode, its tone
alarm will sound once.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (OFF) position.
2. Turn off the hazard warning light switch.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool MB991502, always turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (OFF) position before connecting or
disconnecting scan tool MB991502.
