Flash: Freeze Frame Data Not Available For Diagnosis of Misfire Diagnostic Trouble
Codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The vehicle operator may describe MIL illumination.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (DRBIII(R)) with PCMCIA card p/n CH8425 and the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures, verify all engine systems are functioning as
designed. If DTC's are present, other than the ones listed below, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with
this bulletin.
NOTE:
Make sure the DRBIII(R) is operating with PCMCIA card pin CH8425. The card must be updated to version 5.1 to communicate with all model
years of ST22.
The technician may discover that some freeze frame data items may be unavailable to diagnose the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's):

P0300-Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

P0301-Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected

P0302-Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
^
P0303-Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
^
P0304-Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
^
P0305-Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
^
P0306-Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
If the vehicle operator describes the Symptom/Condition with one or more of the listed DTC's present and the freeze frame data for the DTC(s) is
unavailable, perform the Repair Procedure.
