<When replacing steering shaft assembly (Replacement tilt lever without fixing band)>
CAUTION: Do not release the tilt lever until the steering shaft assembly has been installed.
Ensure that the tilt lever is in the lock position, and install the steering shaft assembly. Tighten the four bolts in the order shown by hand, and then
tighten them to the specified torque in the order shown.
Tightening torque: 12 ± 2 Nm (100 ± 22 inch lbs.)

1. Mount steering cover assembly in the steering gear box securely at the groove, so that the clearance A (shown in the illustration at left) will be
at the standard value.
Standard value (A): 0 - 0.5 mm (0 - 0.02 inch)
2. Before bolting, apply 3M Part number 8663 or equivalent to the mounting bolt holes of toeboard.
