SUBJECT:
Flash - A/C Not Operating After Hot Soak
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.
MODELS:
2004 - 2005 (JR) Sebring Convertible/Sebring Sedan/Stratus Sedan
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to 2004 JR vehicles equipped with a **2.4L**, 2.7L engine (sales code **EDZ, ED2**, EEE or EER) built after June 30, 2003
(MDH 0630XX) or 2005 JR vehicles equipped with a **2.4L** or 2.7L engine (sales code **ED2** or EEE).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The A/C system may not operate after a 30 minute to 1 hour hot soak following a city traffic drive cycle. The A/C will return to normal operation by
cycling the ignition key a second time.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (DRBIII(R)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available on TechCONNECT, verify all other engine systems are
functioning as designed. If DTCs are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the vehicle operator describes or the technician experiences the Symptom/Condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

An updated J1962 cable has been released. This cable has a red colored connector at the DRBIII(R) connection. Use this cable whenever a flash is
being performed.
