Front Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair
Front Door Exterior Handle - Installation
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Left side door shown in illustrations. Right side door similar.
1. If required, Install the lock cylinder onto the exterior door handleSee: Locks/Door Locks/Door Lock Cylinder/Service and Repair/Installation.
2. Position the front of the exterior door handle (3) into the door (1).
3. Push the linkage arm (2) on the exterior door handle downward and install the rear of the exterior door handle to the door.
4. Install the three bolts (4) that secure the exterior door handle to the door. Tighten the bolts to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.).
5. Working through the access hole in the carrier plate (4), connect the two linkage rods (1 and 3) to the exterior door handle (2) and engage the
retaining clips. Make sure the retaining clips are fully engaged to the rods
6. Working through the access hole in the carrier plate (1), install the door lock cylinder shield (2) to the door, if equipped.
