4) Remove the stabilizer bar links from each end of the stabilizer bar (Fig. 39). To do so, place an open-end wrench on the flat machined into the
link's mounting stud, then remove the nut while holding the wrench in place. Push each stud out of the hole in the stabilizer bar and remove the
link.
INSTALLATION
1) Install the stabilizer bar link mounting stud through the hole in the end of the stabilizer bar (Fig. 39).
CAUTION: When installing the nut on the lower mounting stud of the stabilizer bar link, do not allow the stud to rotate in it's socket. Hold the stud
from rotating by placing an open-end wrench on the flat machined into the stud (Fig. 39).
2) Hand-thread the nut on the end of the lower stabilizer bar link stud. Hold the stud from turning by placing an open-end wrench on the flat
machined into the link's mounting stud, then tighten the nut while holding the wrench in place (Fig. 39). Tighten the nut to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.).
3) Install the stabilizer bar link upper mounting stud through the bracket on the strut assembly (Fig. 38).
CAUTION: When installing the nut on the upper mounting stud of the stabilizer bar link, do not allow the stud to rotate in it's socket. Hold the stud
from rotating by placing an open-end wrench on the flat machined into the stud (Fig. 38).
4) Hand thread the nut on the end of the stabilizer bar link stud. Hold the stud from turning by placing an open-end wrench on the flat machined into
the link's mounting stud, then tighten the nut while holding the wrench in place (Fig. 38). Tighten the nut to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.).
5) Install the tire and wheel assembly on the vehicle . Install and tighten the wheel mounting nuts in proper sequence until all nuts are tightened to
half the specified torque. Then repeat the tightening sequence to the full specified torque of 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
6) Lower the vehicle.
