Heated Seat Elements
Effective immediately all repairs on involved vehicles are to be performed
according to this notification. Service Bulletin 08-012-01 is being cancelled.
Models
2001 (RS) Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country
NOTE:
This notification applies only to the above vehicles equipped with heated front seats (sales code CMA).
IMPORTANT:
Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer used vehicle inventory. Dealers should complete this repair on these vehicles before retail delivery.
Dealers should also perform this repair on vehicles in for service. Involved vehicles can be determined by using the VIP inquiry process.
Subject
The front seat electric heater elements on about 51,500 of the above vehicles may fatigue and cause localized overheating and/or discoloration of the seat
cover surface.
Repair
Both front seat heater elements must be replaced.
Parts Information
Seat Heater Repair Package
NOTE:
One repair package contains the required parts to repair two seats.
Each dealer, to whom vehicles in the notification were invoiced, will receive enough Seat Heater Repair Packages to service about 10% of those
vehicles.
Completion Reporting and Reimbursement
DealerCONNECT Claim Entry Screen located on the Service tab. Claims
submitted will be used by DaimlerChrysler to record Customer Satisfaction
Notification service completions and provide dealer payments.
