Air Bag: Description and Operation

    The airbag module is the visible part of the system. It contains the airbag cushion and supporting components. The airbag module consists of a
housing, cushion and inflator which are attached and sealed. 
    The inflator assembly is mounted on the back of the module housing. It seals the hole so it can discharge the gas it is designed to produce, directly into
the cushion, when supplied with the correct electrical signal. A cover is fitted to the front of the airbag module. The airbag module is mounted directly to
the steering wheel.
