Steering Gear: Service and Repair
Steering Gear Replacement
1. Place ignition in Off position, then turn steering wheel left until in locked position.

2. Disconnect steering column shaft coupler from intermediate shaft, then raise and support vehicle.

3. Remove front wheel and tire assembly, then disconnect power steering fluid return hose at steel tube connections and drain into suitable container.
4. Remove tie rod end to steering knuckle mounting nut, then the tie rod end from knuckle with puller tool No. MB-990635, or equivalent.
