Ball Joint: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
The ball joint is an integral part of the lower control arm. The ball joint has a tapered stud that is pressed into the aluminum knuckle. The ball joint
stud is threaded on the end for a retainer nut.
The ball joint has a non-vented seal boot. The seal boot has an integrated heat shield.
The ball joint used in the lower control arm of this vehicle is a sealed-for-life ball joint and requires no maintenance lubrication. The ball joint has
been lubricated-for-life during the manufacturing process. A special fitting cap is installed on the fill port. This cap must not be removed and replaced
