Disabling The SIR System
CAUTION: The Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) can maintain sufficient voltage to deploy the airbags for 10 minutes after the ignition
is OFF and the airbag fuse has been removed. If service begins before the SIR system is disabled, the result could be unexpected deployment of
the airbag which could cause personal injury and unnecessary SIR system repairs.
1. Turn the ignition to LOCK and remove the key.
2. Remove the airbag fuse (F6).
3. Wait 10 minutes for the SIR capacitor to discharge.
