Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Front
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Remove front wheel.
3.
Remove front brake caliper.
4.
Remove front disc brake rotor.
5.
Remove front wheel adjusting lock cap and nut.

6.
Remove front hub using hub puller tool No. 09520-00031 or equivalent, Fig. 5.
7.
Separate tie rod from steering knuckle.
8.
Remove lower ball joint attaching nut.
9.
Remove strut assembly lower nuts, leaving bolts installed.
10.
Support steering knuckle and remove lower strut attaching bolts.
11.
Disengage steering knuckle from the driveshaft. Remove the steering knuckle.
12.
Pry out dust seal from axle hub.

13.
Remove bearing inner race from axle hub using a suitable puller, Fig. 6.
14.
Remove bearing snap ring retainer from steering knuckle.

15.
Press out front bearing using bearing remover tool Nos. 09718-87702 and 09557-10012 or equivalent, Fig. 7.
16.
Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Press axle bearing in place using removal tools.
